Cookie Policy

Effective Date: June 18, 2026 | Last Updated: June 18, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how VehicleSocial and its subsidiaries and affiliates (“VehicleSocial”, “we”, “us” or “our”) use cookies and similar technologies on our websites and mobile applications (collectively, the “Sites”).

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Notice and our Terms of Service. By using our Sites and, where required, by providing your consent through our cookie banner, you agree to our use of cookies as described in this Cookie Policy. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time as described below.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information and to support personalization and advertising.

“Similar technologies” include web beacons (also called clear GIFs or pixels), local storage, software development kits (SDKs) in mobile applications, device identifiers, and session-logging tools such as heatmaps. In this Cookie Policy we refer to cookies and these similar technologies collectively as “Cookies.”

Cookies may be set by us (“first-party cookies”) or by third parties that provide services to us, such as analytics and advertising providers (“third-party cookies”).

2. Why We Use Cookies

We use Cookies to operate and secure our Sites, remember your preferences and settings, understand how our Sites are used so we can improve them, and — where you have consented — to measure the effectiveness of, and to personalize, advertising and other communications.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

We group the Cookies on our Sites into the following categories. On your first visit, and at any time afterwards through our cookie settings, you can accept or reject each optional category. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off because the Sites cannot function properly without them.

  • Strictly Necessary. Required for the Sites to function and to provide core features you request — for example, security, network management, load balancing, authentication and remembering your session. These are always active and do not require your consent.
  • Functional. Enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferred language, region or postal code, saved searches, and other choices you make. If you disable these, some features may not work as intended.
  • Analytics / Performance. Help us understand how visitors interact with our Sites by collecting and reporting information such as the pages visited, vehicles viewed or configured, time on page, and any errors encountered. We use this information to measure and improve the performance of our Sites.
  • Marketing / Advertising. Used to deliver advertising that is more relevant to you and your interests, to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, and to limit how many times you see an ad. These cookies may be set through our Sites by us or by our advertising partners and may be used to build a profile of your interests.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We may allow selected third parties to place Cookies on our Sites to provide analytics and advertising services. For example, we may use analytics and advertising providers (such as Google Analytics) to help us understand our audience and to support measurement and marketing. These third parties may collect information about your activities over time and across different websites and services, and their use of that information is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies, not by this Cookie Policy.

We do not control the Cookies placed by third parties, and the list of third parties may change over time. Where required by applicable law, third-party advertising and analytics cookies are only set after you provide consent.

5. How Long Cookies Last

Cookies may be either “session” cookies or “persistent” cookies. Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or until you delete them. The retention period of each Cookie depends on its purpose; analytics and advertising cookies generally have longer lifespans than strictly necessary cookies.

6. Your Choices and How to Manage Cookies

You have several ways to control Cookies:

  • Cookie settings on our Sites. You can accept or reject Functional, Analytics and Marketing cookies — and change your choices at any time — through the cookie banner or the “Cookie Preferences” control on our Sites. Your preferences are saved on your device so we can apply them on future visits.
  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, manage, delete and block cookies. Refer to your browser’s help documentation for instructions. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Sites may not work.
  • Mobile device controls. Your mobile device may offer settings to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier, and to control location sharing.
  • Advertising opt-outs. You may be able to opt out of certain interest-based advertising through industry programs such as the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (youradchoices.ca/choices). Opting out does not stop all advertising — you may still see ads that are not tailored to your interests.
  • Do Not Track. There is currently no uniform industry standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” signals, and our Sites are currently unable to respond to them.

7. Consent

Where required by applicable Canadian privacy and anti-spam laws — including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applicable provincial privacy laws, and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) — we obtain your consent before placing non-essential Cookies (Functional, Analytics and Marketing) on your device. You may withdraw your consent at any time through our cookie settings or your browser controls. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Information collected through Cookies that identifies you, or can be associated with you, is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the Effective Date above. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically.
